Silicon Controlled Rectifiers (SCRs)

SCR electronics conduct current in a single direction

A silicon controlled rectifier is a three-terminal semiconductor device (anode, cathode and gate) that conducts current in one direction (from anode to cathode). SCR electronics are triggered into conduction by applying a positive current into the gate terminal. The SCR thyristor is turned off when the anode-cathode voltage equals zero while the gate is not biased or when the current through it drops below the holding current. They are used in lamp dimmers, automation applications, motor control and power regulators. You can locate a broad array of thyristors using our robust platform.
